I have broken out the camera lately to take photos to make some cash, as I wait for a new job to take place. I will be posting some of my new work soon. I am taking pictures of Rock Bands in the area of West Texas when I can get in to the events. I have had some luck with getting some quality shots recently and have sold a few. Therefor my income level is going up , the project in Corpus Christi, Texas is looking bleak right now.

With the high cost of travel and expense this Surfing Video I seek to produce does not look possible this year. I will keep you up to date on this. Take Care. Christopher

Music is My Life

In the Permain Basin, we have had a few good performers come through Wagner Noel Auditorium. I thought I would post a video from Australias, Pink Floyd group that was here earlier this year. I got a real kick of how professional that they presented their work . Very close to the real Pink Floyd. The group has played for over 30 years night after night playing the same songs. I would find this difficult to do in the long term, yet this shows persistance on a few musicians that love what they do . What they accomplish is a fine show that entertains millions of people a year. I hope you enjoy this clip I filmed during this show.

I am working constantly and trying to get the surf film assets up and going , so be aware of this North Padre Island, and Port Aransas,Texas as I have had a few comments from surf shops in the area and at this time, the only way to reach me is by email. I do not want a bunch of crap hitting my cell phone yet.Sponsors will come and when they do they will be presented with a package of what I plan to do with this film. Possibly this is just a local interest , yet the film, will be devoted to include surfing from Laguna Beach in California as well. Comparison surfing and competition from the West coast to the small Islands of the South Texas coast. What a story to be told. It will interest most who are involved in surfing and places to go. I have not decided if I am to include the North Shore of Hawaii, as of yet, the expense would be astronomical, but worth it.

Hyer Specialties Unlimited Update July 2013

Well times are a little slow for me right now, and my project for shooting surfing is on hold. It saddens me to say this , but the funds are just not there. I have to work other jobs to get the needed money in order to proceed with "The Wave It Is" I plan to still do this project on surfing in North Padre Island. Just not on my time. There are times in my life when I want to to things I have no control over. This is one of them. I miss the surfing activity and maybe I can get down South , to make this film sooner than I think. I know right now it will not be in July and possibly not even August of 2013.

It will happen , however, I just need to find the financing and interest of other people for this to continue. To do a good job, the cost would be around 100k and this is not happening. At least for right now. If I could make this more than a hobby and a business deal then things could come off differently. I have not been able to get the interest in anyone to complete this project. The expenses are just too high right this moment.

I am still shooting photography and doing animals or pets, to make extra income, and writing my head off to make a living. I have to have another job right now to make ends meet to make this film. I have located a job and it pays well , so I forsee this happening , just don't know when and this is a real pisser. God will let this happen when the time is right and hopefully before I turn 60 years old.lol

I lived my life trying to get this project underway, the music I am still working on my free time with and willl be damn good. So maybe taking this backwards and getting the sound track done is the best way I can possibly do this film. I still want to do this in 3 D Technology and I will. When is the other question. Maybe I can get some of these Oil Giants in Midland, Texas to help me finance this job. There are avenues I have not tried yet. So stick with the idea of this becoming a reality. The "Wave It Is" Film

The "Wave it Is" will be put off for a bit while I try to drum up more money in order to finance this mission for North Padre Island , Texas. The money is just not there, and promotion is not started as of today. Please stay tuned to this blog for further updates. The intial plan was to use an Epic Red Camera to shoot this surfing video, this camera was used for the "Hobbit" it runs around 30 thousand dolars and rentla is about 675 per day. So I wil have to scrap this idea of 3 D production, and possibly go 2D with HD 1080 ip , and that would still be fine. I want to have the best camera to do the job with, so the project is still to happen, just not with the expected equipment.

Surfing Music For Upcoming Film, Padrenorth2013

Well, I have been working on cutting tracks in my home studio for the upcoming film to be shot in North Padre Island, and I believe I will do all tracks on the film. It has come to my attention that a donation of 5k for this project will be coming in from an unknown source. That will make this possible for partial production and equipment. I have not had time to figure out the initial cost of everything as of today. I will be working on this soon. I am predicting a 20k budget , yet have not discussed this with the production facility in Dallas I am to use. Low production , but for a film about the North Padre Island and Port Aransas, Texas area, is substantial, and I can make it last. Quite possibly this is going to really happen.I am excited to have the opportunity to do this film and in HD 3D will be a hoot. Featuring interviews from local residents about the surfing and the rival groups from both parts of North Padre Island, Texas. It is like football is out in West Texas. Friday Night Lights was shot about Permian Football in neighboring Odessa, Texas. That was a Hollywood production and believe me if I had the backing I would do the same with this Island. There is a good story to be told, and it will be a family friendly film.

Well the time has come to set some dates to provide value to sponsors for my Padrenorth Sufing video, as yet to be named. I will travel there starting in July and hope we have some good waves while I am on the Island for two days  on a weekend and twice a month. Then in August shoot in 3D with a  Panasonic AG-3DA1 is the world's first professional, fully-integrated Full HD 3D camcorder on the market. This will provide full 1080/60i, 50i, 30p, 25p and 24p   HD Video and with no problems anticipated. The 25.5-inch 3D LCD production monitor with full 1920 x 1200 resolution, which provides 3D display with true-to-life color in a durable, production-tough LCD panel package.This will help with the post production of the video and true #d screening .

I will incorporate my own music done with Pro Tools 11 and excellent digital quality for Rocking surf music. I plan to incorporate a local band out of Corpus Christi, Texas and I am taking suggestions. If not I will chose a local Midland, Texas based rock bacnd to get the sounds that will be needed for high quality music to be enjoyed by all.

Why am I doing this surfing film? Well I owe it to the guys and girls out there surfing their heads off and needing a bit of attention. I also enjoy the shooting spots and piers I will be shooting from. When I last lived there my project had to be diminished because of poor quality and my drinking and drug use caused for poor judgement. I will be contacting local surfing outlets in the North Padre and Corpus Christi , Texas area for their input, and plan on trying to get film of their competitions if I can make it down there. There is a great story to be told. The many professional surfers who use to live there and now on the circuit have inspired me and others to keep our heads up to the activity that this Island brings to visitors and surfers alike. It is a pleasant atmosphere where serenity is found. The food is good and the accommodations are plentiful.

The surfers range in all ages and the film will be focused on the new surfer to the island and the generations of surfers. The need for good waves is shared by the photographer and the surfer. There are those who can make good on small waves in this area of Texas. I really am looking forward to seeing some old friends out there. I have a few that shoot the finger at me, and I love em. They are the ones that will not be in the video. I tend to do what I please anyway , so who knows w

I went by the name padrenorth2009 and it seems to have stuck with google.com search engines and Hyer Specialties Unlimited. So look these up and keep abreast as I have many blogs about this area and old stuff such as photos, and film coverage from years past. I will also feature some of my music as I record in my home studio with Pro Tools 11 and have cut some awesome music for this upcoming video. It will be a fun feast when it opens and I have the place all ready to be rented out for its pre-release undisclosed in Corpus Christi,. Texas. It will be a event that this city will never have seen. Up To Date With Hyer Specialties

The summer is upon us and business is going fine. The 3D Surfing Shoot for Corpus Christi , Texas will proceed as planned. There is still equipment needed as a 3D Video Camera,lodging expenses, T-shirts to promote, and etc.. So send donations to or Inquire at Chyer47@gmail.com. Be a part of the action and receive residual payment once on the shelves. I will disclose the manufacturer and distribution with your email Inquiry. I have two sponsors already and need more for expenses. This is not just surfing, but competition surfing between the two landmarks, Bob Hall Pier and Port Aransas, Texas Piers. They are like a football team in West Texas. Rivalries and competitiveness in spirit and family affairs. Interviews with top surfers and the surf shops alike will be presented.

My writing continues with Constant Contact and Associated Content by Yahoo news. The future is looking bright in all areas of business. My writing on this blog is free style and not to be confused with my professional writing skills. I am a researcher that gets the facts dealing with relationships and people in general. I also write technical articles and creative articles. I do a few copywriting jobs which I make a few hundred a month on. So if you have a need for a writer, I may be able to squeeze you in to my schedule.

I have collected some fine art from flea markets recently and they are on Ebay.com and doing very well. I collect stamps and fine art, plus Real Photo Post Cards from the 19th century and late 1800s. Inquire about these if interested in a Lot of Stamps from around the world, and First Day covers  in Mint condition.

My social life is not very social. I have met a nice young lady named Kelly and we will see if our friendship develops into something stronger. I am not in a rush, however she does mean quite a bit to me. I have known her just recently and she is all good. I have room for a nice young lady to share my travels and life with. I am not sure how this women feels about me. We will see in the coming days, I suppose. 

I continue to record music and sell this on Soundclick.com so go over and buy an MP3 of my music, it is very unusual sounding music. Cross between Nine Inch Nails and Deff Leopard. Some hard driving rock and some mellow tunes.

My Photography is still in the works, and I have sevral photos from Corpus Christi, Texas and the Hill Country to sell. Inquire about that. I will set up a blog for these photogenic pictures soon. They sell between 15.00 to a hundred dollars. Depending on the photo and size of course. I capture nature at its finest and Surfing Pics that make any room a pleasant scenery.

My oil painting is in full swing with sales on Ebay  being boug
ht for 50.00 to 100.00 and they are very unusual looking pieces of art. Modern art and I will showcase these as soon as I find the time. The abstract art gives color to your house and you can usually see a double image once you gaze at a piece of my work. It is showcased at The Art Gallery in Corpus Christi, Texas and The Port Aransas Art Gallery. Most of my photography is in Port Aransas, Texas. I have been a member for over 7 years at these fine art galleries.

Rock Music In the Midland, Texas Area

This is Peter Frampton played at Noel -Wagner Auditorium in Midland, Texas on Saturday night 06/08/2013 and what a night it was. Acoustically challenged, Hell no. Was a great free for all with the best sound in any stadium built in America. Great place where ZZ Top and Australia's Pink Floyd has played recently. Joe Satriani is on his way to this dust bowl as I write to play his 2 hr. vibe. The tickets range from 50.00 to 300.00. I have to admit sitting in the Gallery (The top section) is the best seats in the house. This video was made from that angle. The Auditorium has a sound system, that is mind altering, and justified. Crisp Bass and high treble make for an outstanding performance by any band. There is no smoking or drinking inside this place. There are the downfall of the seats being to close and not all that comfortable. But in this place where oil flows and the wind blows, we can't beat. Peter put one hell of a show on , and quite one of the best I have seen in any venue. This man who has lost his curly long locks, was into the crowd and into the night.
It's good to have a musician that interacts with the crowd as he did . It makes it more personable.

Peter Frampton and Robert Cray are coming to the Midland, Odessa area on Saturday night June 8th and I am looking forward to my son and I going to see this.I think everyone in the area should see this fabulous duo.

Rock from the 80s or was it the 70s, ? It will be worth the price tag. Peter has lost his locks of hair but he still rocks like he used to, and RObert Cray has gotten better with age. Check out you tube.com and see these fellows. Make a great break for the summer heat we have in Midland, Texas.

Working on Comptia A Plus Certification and getting ready for my test. I need to test out good and be a need for another company possibly. There is still good money in IT and this certification is an asset to my present job. The more we learn about our job , the better the pay. I never stop learning, and the waves of Corpus are still in my head

I have found the camera to shoot the film I need, now is to purchase this , which will be soon. I will take a trip there this month, and hopefully gain some knowledge if it is worth the fil

Yes, a 3d Motion picture is planned for the surfing in North Padre Island with interviews from the locals on the competitions they run  between the Port Aransas and North Padre surfing is in the works. I plan to head down there within qa week or two to scout out locations and to shoot some footage while there in 2d format. Please keep this in mind if you live on the coastal area. Hyer Specialties Unlimited was founded by Christopher Hyer while working in North Padre Island as a photographer. He photographed tropical nature at its best, and during the many seasons that the coastal cities of Corpus Christi  had to offer. Many trips to Rockwall and to Port Aransas, Texas to the harbors and inland parks providing him with spectacular photos of wild life. He especially loved the Brown Pelicans and how orderly their flight patterns were. These gracious birds would fly endlessly down the coast in pairs or in groups of eight or more. Their beauty was captured on film and pictures. Christopher photographed the surfing activities on this Island. He was amazed at what these surfers could do with the little and sometimes not so little waves that are found at Bob Hall Pier and at the pier in Port Aransas, Texas. Google padrenorth on You Tube and you will see some of Chris’s work. These videos were scratch videos and not that high of quality, but Chris wanted the surfer’s to be recognized for what they do. 

Padrenorth was Christopher’s nickname for the Island of North Padre Island. He was popular with the surfing crowd up until the year 2009 when Christopher suffered a breakdown and had to go into a Hospital for treatment of sleep disorders and Alcoholism. He has been sober and sleeping since this period of his life. He moved back to his home town of Midland while in recovery for the last 4 years, and recently has shown up at AA meetings to make sure he completes his sobriety until his dying day.

Christopher is a man whom people like to know. He is personable and quite analytical about what he does now. He has a desire to finish his project in Corpus Christi, Texas of a film about the surfer and the Island of North Padre.

“To be at peace on the island to me is to get in the water and film the surfing and go hang off the piers and get this action in 3D full motion film”. Of course,  he will need the proper equipment and has already investigated his particular needs for the Island Surfing Film. He exclaims,” I tried to make a film from all the footage I took for the five years I live I was not of sane mind and state to make such a move”. The shots are fuzzy and not strong enough for a major project, and would not influence the masses that he wanted to impress.” The footage you see under his name in google images is not of the quality he desired after sobering up.

“After I moved back to Midland and took to being clean and sober and reviewing the films and disc, I tried to tie a terrific film to it all, and even laid down the sound track and post production seemed impossible. I took a few trips back and decided the new medium would be a 3 D Surf film that could be released and professionally done right. It might take a couple of years, yet expect it in stores in summer of 2014”

“I feel I owe it to the Island to shoot a high quality film that will blow every one’s mind. I will do the music and in my studio at home. Post production and final output will be done by a professional. I will package this to sell in key markets around the globe” Christopher has many blogs on surfing on the Island, and many photos and films he made while living in North Padre Island. I have been asked who I am. I am a man from Midland, Texas that is 50 years old and living in the Oil and Gas industry for most of my life. I am a artist, photographer, videographer, writer, IT Technician, musician, recording artist, and a proud Dad of one son. 

I find that "Idle Hands " is not one of my attributes to society. I love to stay busy, whether at my home writing articles for fortune 500 companies, or painting a wild looking montage of a picture. I have no idle hands. I do have time to talk and explain what I can do for you and your business, if interested. So you sould through business consultant in there. 

I love photography , mostly sports and the ocean area of sporting activities. I had shot surfing in Corpus Christi, Texas for many years and around the globe. I was a ghost writer and photographer for many years. However , I do not do weddings or portraits of people. I love animals and human beings. I live a goos life, and live in a modest house with toys that keep me occupied and employed. 

My recent love for writing has come to a slow halt, though I do enjoy a piece of creative work every now and then. I expect decent wages and I get them for my pictures and paintings. I am unlike most men in their 50s , I don't act my age nor do I feel it. I don't drink or smoke, and watch my mouth. I am God fearing and loving to each and every person I come in contact with. 

I have traveled the world and enjoyed it. I will keep traveling as long as I can. I love different cultures and people. I take photographs of anything. I , however enjoy the beauty of nature and fine looking women. I like to photograph beautiful girls in nature and have made some very wealthy with my portfolios that have been submitted to agency's in Dallas and New York City.

I have a full time job working as a Break / Fix Technician for a major computer company in the area. I also write and compose music in my spare time. More on what I am up to soon. Enjoy and search me out .
